" A Bad Day. The Curse Of The E-book "

I tried to apply things from our NI class, and that is to try to make an e-book work on my phone. As I have failed to find the manual of my phone, I tried to download e-books that might work with my phone. I downloaded e=book makers that would convert my doc.x files to different e-book file formats. A pdf e-book file format doesn't work... and then there came the .pdb file format. I thought it might work because my phone was able to recognize it as an e-book but then it didn't open. I thought that maybe I should do a little bit more of converting, it might just not have been a working file. But my efforts failed as it seemed that my phone can only recognize it and not open it. So I tried other file formats, .bin, .lx etc..... none of them worked...... then there came the .txt format. I tried it and it worked!(S***, If I only knew, I would've just copy pasted my data on a notepad and saved it as a .txt file). Then I saw a similar documents folder on my downloads folder and on my user folder. I examined its contents and they were identical. So I deleted the other one, freeing my hard disk a lot of space. And after a few hours, I looked for the documents folder.... and it damn freaking GONE! I panicked.... how in freaking hell can the documents folder be gone?! All of my documents and my tita's documents were gone ( my tita is a teacher, I'm talking about the grades she made, lesson plans...)! Then I asked my cousin, a Com-Sci student, if there is anyway to restore a permanently deleted file (may be I’m not hearing myself that time, how ludicrous can it be to recover a permanently deleted file). My cousin helped me and asked his classmates. And then someone gave a great idea… use system restore to return my computer to a previous state (like deep-freeze). We thought it did the job… our efforts have failed. The system wasn’t affected. Then I tried to download a file undeleter program. This program recovers files which were deleted even from the recycle bin. The trick to it is that you must not use the net and download files or save files. The principle behind this is that delete files from the recycle bin are not totally deleted but they were just removed from the list which means that it is still on your hard disk. However, these “deleted” files can be overwritten if new files are saved (through document making, temporary internet files). Unfortunately, since it happened hours ago, only few files were recovered. And that is the curse of the e-book! So beware… but now at least you know what to do. Use system restore and recover from a restore point or download a file undeleter program and avoid saving files or using the internet. This should have been entitled The Misfortunate Event To Gain Knowledge For Undeleting A File…. Nah… its too long! I’m fine with the title.

Plants while becoming a zombie....

Have you ever played the computer game Plants vs. Zombies by Pop Cap? Well if you haven't, you are way behind ( I can't believe that my CI's even play this game and they've already got a gold flower). If you're still waiting for your crops to grow in farmville then wait no further for plants vs. zombies lets you plant instantly and have them fight by your side (that is if you don't want your brains to be eaten).Just plant those sunflowers to get you sunshine powers in order to plant other powerful plants in your arsenal. I have to say that I am also addicted to this game and if not for that stupid blackout (yes, the one that started around 10pm last July 13, 2010) I would have played all night and may have reached the rooftop level. Anyways, I hope you guys play this game and lets just talk all day about our leafy nonsense in a battle to keep those ugly looking zombies off our lawns.

A Race To Say Who’s Racist. The Hypocritical Racial Issue.

One of the issues that had my mind boggled is that, does anyone have a right to say whose racist? We say that Filipinos are oppressed because of racial discrimination, the black race have obviously been raising their racist issues on white people, and yes, Asians are of course have been ridiculed and have been the center of “entertainment” ( can’t you just stop laughing when a Chinese speaks English?). These are just some of the racial issues that are raised today (And God, there’s a heck lot more. Well I think my examples can give you the idea). Although I must say that I’m hoping not to insult anyone with my opinions on these issues, but hey come on, what’s their deal if they got hurt, maybe my words are striking their minds and says to them, Am I like that? As it would seem that I’m busting my ass here, I’ll continue with my blog. Let’s start with our own race, hey, hey Filipinos! We are known all over the world, not just for our hospitality, but also for being world class DH (Domestic Helpers) and sadly… prostitutes ( Hey, before getting anyone’s eyebrows raised, take note I’ve put sadly on prostitutes). Not that I’m putting down domestic helpers, I mean they are our modern heroes. What ticks me off is that, they’re our damn heroes but how come they are not proud of it! I think one of the reasons why western people (you now what color I’m talking about) are thinking too high of themselves and oppressing us is because a lot of Filipinos do not take pride on what they do that if not for them, who among those guys (yes, the rich other race people and the light colored races) could do it? By being proud of your job even though it’s a low class job or it’s a low paying job, as long as it’s an honest job, it’ll make us also to be proud of our race, the Filipino race! I mean don’t keep bringing up that crap issue on discrimination if you think that they’re a superior race when you meet one of them. Be who you are, be proud of who you are! With the black and white thing, obviously some white people really are racist, thinking that their race is more superior to the rest. And we have here the dark side (I’m referring to the color and not the personality), who had brought up the oppression issue. But I mean, aren’t they also generalizing all white people. You could observe the way how they refer to white people (don’t expect me to describe it here, go watch a movie), and how they respond if someone says the “n” word or the “g” word. But, for me it’s a double standard thing because they can say all these things to white people or to Asian people but if you say something not very pleasing to them, you’re marked as a damn racist! And yes, Asian people. Often seen as the laughing stock and also stereotyped as some freaky martial arts masters (I have to give that one to MAD Tv, nice one Bobby Lee). I mean, why the heck are you laughing with our pronunciations, Asian people as you all know are known for their brains! But hey, Asians too are racists, since some Asians are lighter colored, they’re racist towards dark colored people (just look around here in the Philippines, glutathione anyone?). With all these things said, are we not racists? Are we just using this term to defend ourselves to anything unpleasant to us even in fact we are judgmental and racist ourselves? Is the term racist exclusive to a certain race? Is the racial issue just one of the other hypocritical issues that have been raised since the older days up to the present era? These are the questions which I leave to you and for you to answer for yourselves. And that’s a wrap!
